Today, breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women!

The earlier breast cancer is detected, the greater the chances of recovery.

Thanks to early detection, half of all breast cancers are detected when they measure less than 2 cm. This level of detection makes it possible to achieve very high cure rates, while considerably reducing the aggressiveness of the treatments applied. So it's important to find out more about breast cancer, because it can save your life.

Regular check-ups at all ages

You should be monitored regularly by your GP, gynaecologist or midwife: palpation of the breasts and armpits are essential indications. If he or she detects an abnormality, he or she will prescribe a mammogram or ultrasound scan. This medical check-up should take place every 6 months, or at least every year from the age of 30. It's important for everyone to take responsibility for their own health by performing monthly breast self-examination.

Note: Your GP or gynaecologist will arrange for you to have a mammogram at least every 2 years, or every year if he or she considers it necessary. In France, organised screening is available to women from the age of 50 up to 74.
