FAQ ImunoBran® MGN-3

1. Where does ImunoBran® MGN-3 immune system supplement come from?

To some, the name "ImunoBran® MGN-3" sounds like a laxative and may be off-putting to those with life-threatening conditions or a weak stomach. ImunoBran® MGN-3, however, has good reason to be so named: it is a biologically active product based on bran, fractionated and predigested with enzymes from the Shii-take mushroom. The name ImunoBran® MGN-3 is therefore fully justified, even if the commercials lack a certain scientific connotation; the suffix "immuno" could be added, for example. It should be remembered, however, that in addition to its effectiveness, ImunoBran® MGN-3 is mainly characterised by its harmlessness. Moreover, as it consists of soluble fibres, the product has no laxative effect.

2. Is ImunoBran® MGN-3 an immune stimulant or an immunomodulator?

ImunoBran® MGN-3 is an immunomodulator that does not artificially stimulate the immune system. As a result, the people who benefit most from the product are those whose immune system is deficient (if your immune system is normal, the administration of ImunoBran® MGN-3 supplement will not make any major difference). Modulators, by maintaining the balance of biological parameters in general, do not induce any side effects, unlike stimulants which, by acting on specific parameters, can create an imbalance.

3. Is ImunoBran® MGN-3 a cure or treatment for certain diseases?

ImunoBran® MGN-3 is a nutritional supplement that modulates the immune function. It is therefore highly recommended if it leads to a regression of the symptoms of a particular disease or condition. However, ImunoBran® MGN-3 should not be considered a treatment or cure for all diseases or conditions. It is most often used successfully as an adjunct or supplementary treatment to a programme (conventional or otherwise), on medical advice. Although Professor Ghoneum recommends conventional treatment to reduce tumours, he advocates the simultaneous addition of ImunoBran® MGN-3 to allow the immune function to play its full role and the body to restore its integrity.

4. Is ImunoBran® MGN-3 beneficial in any disease?

In general, anyone suffering from a disease involving a decrease in the capacity of the immune system can expect a beneficial action from ImunoBran® MGN-3, although it must be stressed that this product is NOT a treatment in itself, but a useful supplement to be taken in addition to the treatment. Diseases/infections of viral origin and cancerous conditions are those that respond best to ImunoBran® MGN-3 when given in addition to appropriate treatment. However, it is important to inform your doctor about the supplements you are taking. While standard cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy severely weaken the immune system, thereby reducing quality of life, it is not surprising that one of the most significant benefits of ImunoBran® MGN-3 is the improvement in quality of life by reducing the side effects of therapy.

5. Is it advisable for people with autoimmune diseases to take ImunoBran® MGN-3?

Autoimmune diseases are conditions in which the immune system, having lost the ability to differentiate between self and non-self, attacks the patient's own body. Examples of autoimmune diseases are rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis and Crohn's disease. If the problem is severe, doctors will prescribe immunosuppressants to reduce the severity of the auto-attack. Immunosuppressants are also indicated for organ, tissue or cell transplants to reduce rejection by the immune system. If you are being treated with immunosuppressants, you are strongly advised not to take ImunoBran® MGN-3, or at least not without first consulting your doctor. One reason for this is that in people with autoimmune diseases, NK cell activity tends to decrease and macrophage numbers fluctuate significantly. In these circumstances, ImunoBran® MGN-3 may help to stimulate the activity of these NK cells and attenuate the fluctuations in macrophage numbers. However, stimulating lymphocyte activity before sufficiently reducing fluctuations may worsen symptoms for about a month after starting ImunoBran® MGN-3. For this reason, it is recommended to start with low doses and gradually increase them while carefully monitoring for symptoms. The anti-inflammatory effect of ImunoBran® MGN-3 is an additional factor to consider. Dr. Yuzo Endo, a consultant to Daiwa Pharmaceutical, who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, has tested ImunoBran® MGN-3 on himself.

6. Can I take ImunoBran® MGN-3 with any medication?

It is certainly impossible to test ImunoBran® MGN-3 with every drug on the market. After being taken by tens of thousands of people around the world, this digestible bran product, or glyconutrient, has been found to be safe and without contraindications, except of course for immunosuppressants. It has also been successfully tested in hospitals. However, if you are undergoing treatment (or changing your diet), inform your doctor before taking this supplement.

7. What determines the cost of ImunoBran® MGN-3?

Although ImunoBran® MGN-3 is "simply" predigested rice bran that has been fractionated to select specific molecular sizes, the process itself is very complex to perform under controlled pharmaceutical conditions. The production of ImunoBran® MGN-3 from rice bran in this process is still very low, and makes the product expensive. Add to this the investment in research and development supported by Daiwa Pharmaceutical over the years to develop the product, and you can see why the product is still expensive at present. The price of ImunoBran® MGN-3 could only decrease in the future, as development costs are amortised, hospitals increasingly cover research costs, and the product is scaled up to industrial production.

8. Why do the 1000 mg sachets of ImunoBran® MGN-3 have a net weight of 2000 mg?

Each sachet contains 1000 mg of active ImunoBran® MGN-3. The remaining weight is due to the addition of excipients to stabilise the product, maintain its integrity (tablets), ensure its fluidity (sachets), and preserve ImunoBran MGN-3 (very hydrophilic) from moisture.

9. Is there a difference in efficacy between sachets and tablets?

The manufacturers of ImunoBran® MGN-3 assure that there is no difference in efficacy between the two formats, 4 tablets being equivalent to one sachet: 1000 mg of ImunoBran® MGN-3 is ingested in both cases. (Tablets are convenient for people taking low doses of ImunoBran® MGN-3 or who want to avoid having to dissolve the powder in half a glass of water). ) The sachets are more easily absorbed and can be taken 20 minutes after a meal, while the tablets are best taken with a meal.

10. How much ImunoBran® MGN-3 should I take?

Each sachet contains 1000 mg of active ImunoBran® MGN-3. The remaining weight is due to the addition of excipients to stabilise the product, maintain its integrity (tablets) and ensure that it is safe. As a general rule, high doses of ImunoBran® MGN-3 tend to optimise the immune level or at least normalise it much faster than lower dosages, and are recommended in severe cases to ensure rapid recovery. Dosages range from 1000 mg per day to 3000 mg per day (3 sachets) or more depending on the weight of the person. A healthy adult with a mild cold or infection will take 1000 mg per day to provide immune protection and prevent disease. For more severe immune diseases or for faster recovery, the dose will be 1 sachet per day (15 mg/kg/day), while for very severe immune diseases, 3 sachets ( 45mg/kg/day) per day for 2 months will be advised, after which the dose will be reduced to 1 sachet. (If at the same time treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, are administered, then it is advisable to increase the maintenance dose again to 3g per day or more, one week before the treatment, and up to 2 weeks afterwards). It is always best to divide the daily doses between meals, e.g. a person prescribed 3 sachets will take 1 sachet at each of the 3 main meals.r fluidity (sachets), and preserve ImunoBra® MGN-3 (very hydrophilic) from moisture.

11. After stopping or restarting ImunoBran® MGN-3, what dose should I take?

Individuals taking one gram (1000 mg or 4 tablets) or more of ImunoBran® MGN-3 per day will experience an optimal immune modulating effect after two months. If ImunoBran® MGN-3 is discontinued, immune function will usually return to its original level within a month due to the presence of immunosuppressive factors such as disease, poor diet, stress, toxicity, etc. (...).

12. When can I safely stop taking ImunoBran® MGN-3?

No hyporesponsiveness or depletion of effect over time has been observed with ImunoBran® MGN-3 . The product can therefore be taken indefinitely. However, the cost of long-term use of the supplement can be prohibitive, so many people want to know when they can stop taking the product. If you have been taking it for a defined condition and it has been successfully treated, you can stop taking ImunoBran® MGN-3 or continue it at a very low maintenance dose. If your condition persists or progresses, it is best to continue taking it. If you stop taking ImunoBran® MGN-3, adopt a healthy lifestyle to optimise your immune function without adjuvant.

13. Can I take less chemotherapy if I am taking ImunoBran® MGN-3?

Research suggests that it is possible to reduce chemotherapy doses as the body's ability to defend itself increases. Although there are many animal studies that support this, we do NOT recommend this practice. Always consult your oncologist.

14. If I am starting chemotherapy/radiotherapy and choose to take ImunoBran® MGN-3 at the same time, when can I decide to start?

The sooner the better, provided your oncologist does not object. If your immune system is strong when you start chemotherapy or radiotherapy, the treatment will be easier to bear and the side effects will be less. Start immediately with a high daily dose (3 grams or 3 sachets) to normalise your immune system as quickly as possible. You will gradually reduce the dose of ImunoBran® MGN-3 to 1 sachet or 1 gram per day after 2 months, but if the chemo or radiotherapy is prolonged, it is recommended that you continue to take the higher dose in order to reduce the side effects. (To be effective, this dosage should be started one week before treatment and continued for a fortnight afterwards).

15. Can children also take ImunoBran® MGN-3?

ImunoBran® MGN-3 is also very suitable for children of all ages. The doses will be proportional to their weight. For example, a child weighing 20 kg will take a dose equivalent to one third to one quarter of that of an adult.

16. Can pregnant women take ImunoBran® MGN-3?

Pregnant women have been taking ImunoBran® MGN-3 without any problems. However, Daiwa Pharmaceutical informs us that they cannot recommend ImunoBran® MGN-3 to this specific group of people until large-scale trials have been conducted in pregnant women, even though the product appears to be safe.

17. Can I give ImunoBran® MGN-3 to my pets?

Many people give ImunoBran® MGN-3 to their pets to boost their immune function. To date, we know that ImunoBran® MGN-3 has been given to mammals and birds. However, we are confident that the person who has given this supplement to their favourite iguana will immediately come forward: lower animals such as fish have a more primitive immune system and ImunoBran® MGN-3 is not recommended for them. As with children, the dose should be proportional to weight. Taking 15 mg/kg/day for a child is equivalent to a dose of 1000mg or 1 sachet per day for an adult.

18. Does ImunoBran® MGN-3 cross the blood-brain barrier?

This has not yet been demonstrated. It is highly unlikely that ImunoBran® MGN-3 crosses the blood-brain barrier, as its molecular weight is much higher than that of glucose. Does this mean that ImunoBran® MGN-3 is useless for people with abnormal neural cell growth? (...). Nevertheless, despite the limited amount of data available on the effects of ImunoBran® MGN-3 on brain tumours, its administration can only benefit the quality of life of the patients concerned. (Information from Dr. Endo, Japan.)

19. Can ImunoBran® MGN-3 be administered in the case of stem cell transplantation?

During stem cell therapy, people receive immunosuppressants to reduce the risk of rejection. During this period, any product that increases immune function should be avoided. Once the stem cells have been successfully transplanted and the immunosuppressants have been stopped, ImunoBran® MGN-3 can be taken with the approval of your doctor to help the immune system regulate itself.

20. Is ImunoBran® MGN-3 a sterile product?

Like all natural food supplements, ImunoBran® MGN-3 is not a sterile product. In fact, any sterilization process usually involving high temperatures or even high pressures would denature the product. However, it is produced in a pharmaceutical laboratory and its packaging is very reliable. Thus, although the bacterial content is extremely low in this product, it is one of the safe food supplements on the market. ImunoBran® MGN-3 does not contain any harmful bacteria.

21. Can ImunoBran® MGN-3 be "homemade"?

The manufacturing process of ImunoBran® MGN-3 is not limited to simply mixing Shiitake mushrooms with rice bran. The enzymes from these mushrooms must be isolated, mixed with the rice and then, after a defined time, the low molecular weight compounds separated by fractionation of the resulting short-chain polysaccharides. This is a complex process that is difficult to replicate at home.

22. Has ImunoBran® MGN-3 been tested on animals?

As a Japanese company, Daiwa Pharmaceutical is required by law to test the LD50 on animals for safety reasons. This is a test that all new products must undergo. Although it is unfortunate, as it involves the death of a number of rats, this test is legally required. Without this data, no ethics committee would allow trials or studies of ImunoBran® MGN-3 in humans, and the product could not be marketed. The other animal experiments carried out by the Company are "chronic" trials designed to study, in rats, the side effects and activation of the immune system of ImunoBran® MGN-3. No animals are sacrificed during these trials. As a responsible and ethical company, Daiwa strives to keep animal testing to a minimum.

23. Does ImunoBran® MGN-3 contain GMOs?

Not at all. ImunoBran® MGN-3 is not derived from genetically modified organisms and does not contain any genetically modified ingredients.

24. After the Fukushima nuclear accident, could ImunoBran® MGN-3 be radioactive?

Not only is Daiwa's manufacturing plant far from the Fukushima plant, but all batches of ImunoBran® MGN-3 are tested for radioactivity. None of these tested batches have ever tested positive.

25. Why are retailers reluctant to promote the benefits of ImunoBran® MGN-3?

In most European countries, retailers are not allowed to advertise the therapeutic benefits of nutritional supplements. ImunoBran® MGN-3 is therefore sold as a supplement to stimulate failing immune systems. In the United States, the sponsors seem to be free to say more. However, Lane Laboratories has just been banned from reselling the product in the United States because of the claims they were making.
